One register, three states

Licence validity: what changes between active, expired and not valid

The validity of a house's licence is not read in its terms — it is read in the register of the authority that issued it. This page gathers four cases where that register says something the terms alone do not show.

The licence validity of a crypto house is not an opinion — it is a state the issuing authority's own register publishes, on a specific date, for a specific number. Three words cover almost every case: active, where the register confirms the licence is in force at that moment; expired, where an end date has already passed; and not valid, a third category the Curaçao portal uses when a number is not recognised in that form — not always because the licence never existed.

Licence validity: three words, three meanings

None of those three words substitutes for the others. A register may show “active” for a number that holds until a future date; it may show an expiry date already past, which this site calls expired; or it may show “not valid” for a number the house's own terms go on printing. All three call for the same action from anyone wanting to check: open the authority's portal, search the exact number and note the date of the search — because the state can change afterwards. The same check, house by house, is gathered on the crypto casino page.

Six houses from the ranking, in the same position they hold on the home page, with Vave always at the top and the figures this subject deals with in the columns beside them.

Wild Fortune: a printed expiry date

Wild Fortune runs under Metlait SRL, with the Anjouan licence ALSI-202509073-FI2. The register as searched prints two dates, not one: a start on 30 September 2025 and an expiry on 29 September 2026. It is one of the few cases among the twelve houses in this site's ranking where an expiry date appears explicitly, rather than a plain “active” with no term.

What a reader can do with that expiry date is limited, and this site goes no further: check the register again after 29 September 2026, to see whether a new number has replaced ALSI-202509073-FI2 or whether the state has changed. The date does not say what will happen after it — it says only when it is worth looking again.

Rocketpot: a number the terms print but the portal does not recognise

Rocketpot prints the number 1668/JAZ in clause 1.2 of its terms — a number the house itself uses to identify itself as licensed. On the cert.cga.cw portal, though, searched on 12 and 13 September 2026, that same number came back marked “not valid”. The two pieces of information come from different sources — the house's terms and the authority's register — and in this case they do not agree.

That does not on its own allow the conclusion that the licence never existed, or that it stopped existing at a specific moment; the register simply did not recognise that number in that search window. It is why this site always quotes the date on which a state was observed, rather than treating it as permanent.

Metaspins: two authorities, with no reconciliation

Metaspins is the only case among the twelve houses where two different authorities appear attached to the same name. The terms published on the site print the Anjouan licence ALSI-202606048-FI2. The Curaçao register, on the other hand, lists a different licence — OGL/2024/1063/0437 — as active for the domain metaspins.com, in the name of Metaspins N.V.

Neither source corrects the other; the two simply exist side by side, with no document explaining the relationship between the two numbers. This site records the fact without trying to reconcile what the sources themselves do not reconcile.

Revoked: the fourth state in licence validity

Away from the twelve scored houses, the same Curaçao register shows, in general, five licences marked as revoked. No brand is named here — the point is not to single out a particular house but to make clear that “revoked” is a fourth possible state, as real as active, expired or not valid, and that a licence number on its own never guarantees which of the four is in force on any given date. The page on the licence number explains how each number is formatted before it ever reaches the register.

The panel below gathers the state of each of the twelve licences in this site's search window, between 8 and 13 September 2026, side by side with the issue date of each — set out case by case on the page about since when the licence has held.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does "not valid" mean in a Curaçao register?
It means the cert.cga.cw portal does not recognise that number in the format or the situation in which it was searched, at the moment of the search. It is not the same as "expired", which assumes a past end date, nor does it prove on its own that the licence never existed. Rocketpot is this site's example: its terms print 1668/JAZ, but the portal showed "not valid" on 12 and 13 September 2026.
Does a licence with a future expiry date, like Wild Fortune's, weigh more in the ranking than one with no date at all?
That is not how the criterion works. A printed expiry date gives the reader only something a licence without a term does not: a specific moment to check the register again. It says nothing about what will happen before or after that date, and it does not change the other four criteria the method adds up.
Why does Metaspins appear with two different licences?
The terms Metaspins publishes cite an Anjouan licence, ALSI-202606048-FI2; the Curaçao register, separately, lists a different licence, OGL/2024/1063/0437, as active for the same domain. The two sources do not explain each other, and this site does not try to reconcile them — it only describes what each one shows.
Do the five revoked licences mentioned here belong to any of the twelve ranked houses?
No — none of the twelve scored houses on this site appears attached to a revoked licence in the search window used here. The mention exists to show that "revoked" is a real state inside the same register, alongside active, expired and not valid, and that it is worth checking whenever a licence number turns up anywhere.
